Uncle Benjamin
Its been so long since the last time I seen’em
I mean I grew up with out’em
So I really didn’t need’em
Pops never talked about’em
But used to get mad when we asked about’em
Its funny
Uncle Ben always used to answer our wish lists
Mom and Pops would smile
But he only came around during Birthdays and Christmas
I went to go look for’em once I turned 12
And I found’em in the streets
Every night past 12
Pops was getting mad
But I liked hanging out with’em
Moms was getting sad
She didn’t like what I was doing with’em
The girls always came around
When I was with Uncle Ben
I Took’em out on the town
But they always left with Uncle Ben
I used to think to myself “why’s he trying to dog me?”
The more I hung out
The more people tried to rob me
So I got me a gun
To protect me and Uncle Ben
I thought everybody liked us
Pretended to be our friend
They didn’t care about me
They just respected Uncle Ben
I never noticed but he hung out with everybody
Not just me, he was friendly
He would hang out with anybody
Who ever showed him action
Pops told me Get out the streets and get a job
Keep looking for uncle Ben
But don’t deny Uncle Abe and Uncle Jackson
Uncle Ben helped me take care of my fam
Im thankful for that
But my pops showed me how to be a man
Uncle Benjamin couldn’t teach me that
